Feature Friday: How Two Live

Another week has gone by and on the spotlight this week is Stef and Jess. Yes! This week I am lucky enough to feature not 1 but 2 bloggers at the same time! How cool is that?! It's like having twix (sorry for the association ladies, but I love twix). Anyway, Stef and Jess are sisters who run How Two Live.
They post a lot of outfits and I must say I am inspired to go wilder than I am when I see their outfits. It is so different from what we all are used to. So bold and fearless. I am so glad we found each other. Look at their outfits for Paris Fashion Week Day 3. I love their blog name as well, as I think it makes perfect sense if you read their story. I think everyone should definitely check out their blog.

Tell me about your blog:
How Two Live is a daily diary between two sisters. We share our outfits, outings, and experiences with each other from wherever we are in the world. It's a great way for us to keep in contact and cool that other people can also keep up to date with what's going on in our lives and more importantly what we're wearing!

Why you started blogging:
We've always lived together and had a combined wardrobe. When we were split up this year with Stef's move to Paris, we thought a blog would be the perfect way to stay connected.

What you love about blogging:
We're pretty new to this as HTL has only been going for a few months, but we're having a lot of fun with it. It's such a great excuse to dress up everyday and we've noticed that as the blog has progressed our dress sense is getting crazier and crazier. We were always those people who overdressed to everything, and saying 'it's for the blog' is now the perfect justification!

Ideas/plans regarding your blog:
We're in Paris for Fashion Week and if you would've told us we'd be here a couple of months ago we never would've believed who knows where the blog will take us next!

Some Interesting things about you:
- We always have 2 different colours on our nails
- We eat tuna at least once a day
- We're half Moroccan
- We see movies at least 10 times and never stop quoting them
- We have 18 piercings combined

If you would like to see some extra ordinary style, or if you need inspiration, visit Stef and Jess.

{Thank you Stef and Jess for the opportunity to feature 2 bloggers at once. It is so great to know more about you. If you would like to be featured, please click here for more details.}

Autumn/Winter Outfits #PassionforFashion

The lovely people over at Money Supermarket are hosting a competition in which all bloggers can take part. It is called Passion for Fashion. I was contacted by them and asked if I would like to enter. Since I have never done this before I thought I would give it a go. The aim of the competition is to put together  5 outfits for 5 different occasions (Office wear, Party, Outdoor, Casual and First date). All the outfits should be under £200.
I finally had some time last night and thought I'd do it even if it's the last day of submission. So here are my outfits for the different occasions.
Office wear, passion for fashion, peplum dress
Dress - Dorothy Perkins Bag - Topshop Shoes - Tribeca Shoes Necklace - Dorothy Perkins Watch - Asos Lipstick - Asos Coat - Asos

For the Office wear, I decided I would go for a total business outfit therefore I picked the colors beige and black. The dress is stylish yet professional with a high neckline and appropriate length. All the items chosen can be worn not just to the office, they can be mixed with other items to give other looks.
Casual. how to style disco pants, oversized jumper
Jumper - Topshop Disco pants - Glamorous Shoes - tribeca Bag - Asos Bracelet - Topshop Necklace - Topshop
The casual outfit is suitable for hanging out with friends in the evening or on the weekends. IT doesn't matter where you are going, this outfit will look great. The outfit is really simple with mostly black pieces and a red over-sized jumper to give it some color and make the outfit more stylish. Disco pants are trending A/W 12 and would look amazing with this jumper. I picked a statement necklace and bracelet for this outfit because in my opinion, if an outfit is really simple, add statement jewelry and it would become entirely different.
Party outfit, teal dress
Dress - Asos Shoes - Soyoushoes Clutch - Asos Ring - Topshop
Christmas and New Year falls under A/W, and for me this is a big deal. I like to dress up and look extra nice. There is this saying - "The way you meet the New Year is how you will spend it". So I decided to go with this lovely teal jeweled bustier dress. I think if you meet the New Year in this, you will definitely have an amazing year ahead.
Outdoor outfit, colorful leggings, how to wear colorful leggings
Jacket - Topshop Vest - Topshop Jumper - Dorothy Perkins Leggings - H&M Boots - Tribeca Shoes Scarf - H&M Bag - Asos
For the outdoor outfit I wanted a warm but at the same time trendy outfit with some edge. I also wanted it to not be the usual black or dark colors everyone wears in the Autumn and Winter, therefore I decided to go with colorful leggings, some white items, a plum bag and a green scarf because the green compliments the white and purple as well as keeps you warm. I believe that having 3-4 different thinner items on top of each other is much warmer than having just 1 item. The layered items will keep you warm if you have to spend a lot of time outdoors.
First date, colorblock

Blazer - Topshop Top - Asos Necklace - Topshop Jeans - Asos Bag - Topshop Shoes - Soyoushoes

Every man wants a beautiful woman by his side, this inspired me to go for a colorblock outfit. I think on a first date, it is important to show the opposite side that you can be fun/playful yet matured, stylish and sophisticated. Therefore, I decided to skip low neck lines and showing a lot of skin and go for this outfit. The outfit is picked so you are ready for the unexpected. If he decides to take a walk, you don't freeze and your legs don't fall off half way through.

What do you think of these outfits? Which would you wear and which is your favorite?

Feature Friday: Freda Fro

This week I am featuring the lovely Alfreda of Freda Fro. She rocks the African Afro like no other and I am proud of her for that. My hair is partly African, and I cannot imagine going all natural because it takes me forever in the morning to comb. She is an amazing person, her blog is new and blogs about outfits, beauty products etc. If you haven't already, stop by her blog and show some support.

Name: Alfreda Ashiofu

Blog Name: Freda Fro

Blog URL

Where can we find you (links): Twitter

Tell me about your blog:
It's new, and mostly about my natural hair journey and fashion, but other miscellaneous things.

What inspired you to start blogging:
I love reading other people's blogs, and I enjoy what they have to share. Also my family thinks I need to be more open and take more pictures, so when my sister started her own fashion blog, I decided to start a blog to get myself more comfortable with my natural hair while sharing my journey with others and building some self esteem.

What you love about blogging:
It's making me more creative, fashion, hair and literature wise, because I get to ponder on blog titles, and sometimes I just sit there and plan an outfit in my head, or a new hairstyle.

Ideas/plans regarding your blog:
I plan on growing with it, and maybe expanding the categories a little bit more, and since I just recently started modeling, it should be a lot more fun.

Some Interesting things about you:
I laugh during horror films, I have 15 siblings, I have an addiction to >4" heels and dresses!

Do you have natural African hair? Are you thinking whether to go natural? Check out Freda Fro for some inspiration.

Outfit Idea: Out with friends

Outfit Idea inspiration for when going out with friends. It is not really warm anymore, but not as cold as it could be. Autumn is here and we have to put away the tops and put on something a bit warmer. I think that this is a great idea for an outfit when spending time with friends. The cropped tee is warm enough for the weather and studded shorts are in right now and give it some edge. You can add a pair of tights, depending on how cold it is and where exactly you are heading with your friends.
Outfit Idea: Out with friends

What do you think of this outfit? Yay or Nay? What would you wear out with friends?

H&M Opening Party Outfit

In my last post about the H&M Opening Party in Latvia, I wrote about my wonderful experience. Here is what I wore to the event. I paired my famous coral blazer with blue jeans, a zigzag glitter mint top, beige heels and a beige clutch.
I spent quite a while thinking about what to wear, a dress, a skirt or jeans. Then the weather helped make my decision because it was cold so I decided to go with jeans.

H&M Opening Party in Latvia

H&M in Latvia
H&M is finally in Latvia. I was lucky to be invited to attend the opening party which took place yesterday 13th of September at Galerija Centrs in Riga. It was an amazing evening which I will always remember. There were a lot of connoisseurs of fashion and style as well as journalists and bloggers. Everyone had a great time with bubbly champagne and treats, as well as available discount on all the items purchased.
The store in Galerija Centrs occupies 3 floors. First 2 floors are full of different lovely items for ladies, while the 3rd floor has items for kids and men. When I got into the store, I was happy to see that it held something different from the other stores I had seen in Sweden and Germany. At that moment, I felt like each store has it's own personality just like people. There were so many trendy items of different colors - colored jeans/blazers, aztec prints, neon, floral and I can go on and on.
I had a lovely time and got myself quite a few items about which I will post a bit later. The store opens to the public tomorrow at 11:00 so be sure to check out all the lovely pieces.

A touch of color-block

This is one of my outfit photos from when I was out with my mum in August. I wore grey on denim and added a touch of color block with my clutch. I apologize that it is taking me so long to upload all the photos from August. I am sure you understand how it is.
We were just walking around different parks in the center of Riga and then went to a cafe. I liked how the red and fuchsia added some color to my outfit. It makes the entire outfit more attractive and not just plain old grey and denim. I also had a red DIY bow at the back of my hair. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures of that.

Homemade hair nourishing mask

I love my hair, and I know you do too. So I decided to share a super easy recipe which you can use to nourish your hair and it can all be done at home. Forget chemicals and spending loads of money on hair masks sold in stores. Forget waiting till your stylist is free and paying him/her for making a hair mask. Go into your kitchen and get a few items which you can use to get beautiful, healthy hair. If you don't have any of these items (for example coconut milk) just go to your local food store, they should have it.
Homemade nourishing mask, hairmask, hair treatment, get shiny hair
Source: 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5
What you need:
1 Avocado
3 teaspoons Olive oil
1/2 Coconut milk
1 egg
1 tbsp Honey

Making and applying the mask:
1. Mash the avocado in a small bowl.
2. Add the egg and mix it together properly so the egg white and yolk are properly mixed with the avocado.
3. Add all the other ingredients
Apply this mask on your hair for 30 minutes. You can apply heat to it to let the hair absorb the vitamins and minerals better. Or you can just apply it and leave it on longer if you can. This just gives the mask more time to do it's magic.
Wash it off with warm water and then wash your hair like you normally would.

The effect of the ingredients:
Avocado - It is rich in vitamins and minerals, like all fruits and vegetables. It has been shown to contain pantothenic acid which is said to reduce gray hair. It is also believed to help in hair growth.
Olive oil -Reduce hair loss and stimulate hair growth.
Coconut milk -It is rich in protein, essential fats and iron. Prevents thinning, stops hair breakage and boosts hair growth.
Eggs -High protein content which can be used to strengthen hair follicles.
Honey -It is a humectant and as such adds moisture to your hair.

Overall effect:
Soft, supple, shiny, healthy looking hair.

Have you tried this hair mask? What do you think?
