Review: Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Hello beauties, I hope you all had some fun pranking family and friends on the 1st of April. Today I am bringing you a review of a new eyeliner I am now using. I bought this at a drugstore when I went out last week. As it always is, I went in because I needed to get the mineral powder which I am currently using and told myself I wouldn't spend much. Turned out, they had a discount on almost all the items in the store and when I saw this gel liner I just had to have it.

See the thing with me and liners is I am really bad at it. My lashes are really curly and putting on liquid eyeliner is just a big mess {like a kid with watercolours}. So once I found out about the gel liners, I knew this might just be one of my favourite products.

Because I needed an everyday shade, I went for 'Intense Black'. This gel liner comes in a nice packaging and an even better jar. Although glass makeup jars aren't my favourite items as I tend to be a bit clumsy sometimes, I could not help but wow when I saw the jar inside. I absolutely love the way it looks and the matte finish just makes it even.

The gel eyeliner comes with a normal sized brush which is just the perfect shade. It allows me make thick lines as well as really thin lines {which I never thought was possible}. I absolutely love the brush and have been using this gel eyeliner ever since I got it. With the discount this product cost me approx €9 which in my opinion isn't bad since I get to use it for minimum a month. The packaging says 24 hours wear. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you if it lasts all 24 hours as I have not gone that long with makeup on, but I can definitely tell you it has 15 hours of staying on which means it lasts me all day while I am out.

I don't have any bad reactions or itching or anything from this product. Actually I have nothing bad to say about this product.

I really do love this gel liner and I think it might just become a holy grail product of mine. Of course if someone could point me in the direction of something cheaper but as great I will definitely try that out too. Who doesn't like to save a penny here and there?! But for now, I am so happy with it and would really suggest trying it out for those who cannot just get the hang of a liquid liner.

Quick Summary
Likes: Packaging, brush inside
Dislikes:
Verdict: Definitely repurchasing

Have you tried this gel eyeliner? Which is your favourite gel liner?

    1. I used to use pencil liners up till about 6 months ago when I switched to gel liners. I just couldn't take it coming off so easily and looking so stupid by the end of the work day. x

  4. I definitely like this kind of eyeliner that you can paint on best. I feel like you get much better control over your line and it lasts so much longer. Right now I'm using one from Makeup Forever that I love, but I kind of want to try this one too :)

    1. Great idea darling. A little tip I picked up along the way... If it is a little bit dry, dip your brush in some hand cream and then into the gel liner product and it works amazingly. x
