Review: Mane 'n Tail Deep Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner

Hello beauties. I hope you are all having a great week. I haven't posted in a while because I am spending evenings and most of the weekends working on my thesis, but I hope you stick around and support me while I get this done. Now that's out of the way, time to get to the review.

I got this shampoo and conditioner over 3 months ago when I decided to start off my journey of growing out my hair an extra 15-20cm. I know that's going to take a while as my hair takes it's time when growing but I am going to do my best and see how long I can get it.

I heard about horse shampoo being used when trying to grow human hair and was suggested the Mane 'n Tail range by my friend Katie, so I did a bit of research and a lot of people seemed to be impressed with it so I thought I would try it. These products can be used both on horses and on human hair, so it is totally safe. I chose the Deep Moisturizing products because my hair is super dry {apparently my skin just seems to think my face needs more oil and my hair less}. I got the 355 ml bottles for about 14 including shipping and they have lasted quite a while.

So packaging wise, it looks more like horse shampoo that human shampoo and the picture of horses running just makes everyone who sees it ask questions. So if you are planning to get this shampoo or conditioner be prepared that whoever you live with or have over will probably ask you why you have horse shampoo if you don't have a pet.

Product wise it is blue and smells pretty nice. When I first ordered it I kept thinking it is going to stink and wondering how I am going to go to out the house, but to my relief it doesn't.

I use this product once a week or every other week because from what I noticed it cleans your scalp and hair thoroughly and I think it strips it of some of the oil. So since I have dry hair, I really do not want to do that. The shampoo didn't lather much for me which meant I had to use more shampoo and just after using the shampoo, the hair feels quite dry. But once you apply the conditioner is feels amazing.

Growth wise, I cannot say that it has actually helped my hair grow faster or anything like that. But then again, I did abandon my hair growth routine for a bit while I was on vacation so I am going to try these products once again when I get back on my growth journey. But I know for sure I like the conditioner much more than the shampoo so might continue getting it even if I stop getting the shampoo because I noticed it made my hair softer and shinier.

Overall Summary
Price - Depends on your location. To Latvia approx 14 including shipping.
Likes - Used together the conditioner adds back moisture which the shampoo takes away
Dislikes - Shampoo makes hair very dry
Verdict - 1 more proper try, repurchasing conditioner
Available - Ebay, Amazon, Sally Beauty etc

Have you tried these products? What did you think?

  2. This is very strange, Like, it sounds interesting but I don't know how I'd feel about using it. Part of me is tempted to though. I love trying out new products and this one is definitely something I've never come close to trying. Is it quite gentle as a product cause I have sensitive skin? :)

    Cool post.

    1. I know it sounds so weird. When i first heard it, i couldn't believe it and didn't want to try it. It took me a long time to actually get myself to try it. If you have sensitive skin try checking out which 1 from the range suits you best and then just get a sample. That way you do not have to spend a lot on it. x
