Hello Beauties, I hope you have all been well. I've not been posting much as I am on vacation in Barcelona and am trying to spend every minute enjoying everything Barcelona has to offer. Right now, I've got a bit of time resting at home so I thought I'd write this post.
I love applying my makeup with brushes. As foundation is the base of your makeup, it is important that your foundation is applied smoothly because when the base is bad, somehow the rest of the makeup looks bad too.
Prior to getting the Real Techniques Sam's Picks Brush Set, I got a dupe of the Real Techniques Buffing Brush on ebay. Here are pictures of both brushes. Can you tell the difference?

Real Techniques Buffing Brush Dupe
From the pictures above, both brushes look pretty good. And they are. The Real Techniques Buffing Brush is my favourite brush from the Sam's Picks Brush Set. The dupe, like the Real Techniques brush, is made of soft fibre. The price is amazing which makes it totally worth the purchase. One thing I noticed though which I didn't like was that the fibres of the dupe brush absorb the foundation easily and as such begin to feel more tense and may apply foundation a bit more unevenly. Which means that with these brushes, you'd just have to wash them more often than you do your RT buffing brush. Other than that, I think the dupes are great because I didn't notice any fall out even after washing it numerous times.
Pros of dupe
Price
Soft fibres
Cons
Fibres absorb liquid foundation more easily.
Have you tried a dupe of the Real Techniques brushes? What did you think?
wow there is hardly any difference between these two brushes. Great find you have got here. Thanks for sharing hun and glad your having a great time away. xx

DeleteI hope you are having a lovely vacation, I am awful with brushes in fact I don't even have 'good' ones so now would be the best time to start! xxx
ReplyDeleteI had a swell time lovely, thanks. It's never too late to start. I think I only started using brushes about 1-2 years ago.
DeleteOkay so I have a dupe Real Techniques contouring brush and it sheds a lot and doesn't contour as much as I'd like (however I think this might just be my poor contouring skills haha!) Am defo buying this dupe though!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog on the #bbloggers Blog Hop! Followed you now so can't wait to catch up with more :)
