Hello beauties! I hope you all had a fab weekend. Hopefully you've all had dinner, now why not grab a cuppa and let's have a little sit down. Today, I'd like to discuss a skincare product: Lush Grease Lightning Spot Treatment. As you probably already guessed, this is a product designed for those dreaded zits {What is it about them that makes them tend to pop up before a big occasion?!}. The description on the product says "Strikes the spot with lightning precision. Dab on this super effective tea tree and witch hazel gel to zap zits before they show themselves". So, I've used this multiple times and thought I'd finally write a review.
Now packaging wise, I like the product as it is in a bottle with a pump. But unfortunately, I don't like this specific pump because it dispenses way too much product. And if I could find a way to make the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer dispense just enough product as I need, you'd think I'd be able to handle this one. Unfortunately no. So I just end up finding places to apply the rest that comes out in that 1 pump or washing it down the drain. The smell of this product isn't bad {and I say that from experience. I've used some really bad smelling acne treatments}. It smells sort of like herbs which makes sense if you look at the ingredients.
On to the product, the Grease Lightning Spot Treatment is a clear gel which is made up of natural ingredients. Some of these include antibacterial and antiseptic ingredients such as thyme, rosemary, tea tree and sea water, antioxidant-rich ingredients such as witch hazel extract and grape juice, as well as soothing and healing ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Lavender Oil.
The idea behind the product is that once you feel there is a zit coming, you apply the gel on that area and let it sit for a couple of hours. The gel is supposed to help clear the zit without drying out your skin. Depending on the zit, you may have to apply this a couple of times and then your zit should be gone.
But even when products are supposed to do certain things, they don't always work for everyone. Unfortunately, this was one of those cases when a product just doesn't fit me. I've heard people talk about how amazing this product is and I'm sure some of you even have it as a holy grail product, but it just didn't zap anything for me.
So that's my opinion on this product. It didn't work for me, but it might for you. So maybe save yourself the spending and ask for a sample {hopefully they can give you enough to last a couple of applications}.

Yea, it's a shame, but it definitely happens. Depends on your skin I guess. I've tried a few other products and I quite liked those. x
DeleteI am really unsure about this, I have heard good and bad but haven't tried it myself, guess I will just have to trial it ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteYes love, you can't really know until you try it on your skin. Ask them to put a bit as a sample in those tiny plastic jars they have. xxx
