Review: Magnitone Lucid Daily Cleansing & Exfoliating Brush

Hello lovelies. You all know skincare is one of the most important things to me. Due to struggling with acne prone skin, I am constantly on the lookout for skincare products and tools which can help control my acne and keep my face clear & smooth. I've tried a cleansing brush before but it wasn't for daily use and I didn't like it much, so when I came across the Magnitone Lucid*, I just knew I had to give it a try.

The Magnitone Lucid Cleansing & Exfoliating Brush is a brush for daily use. It retails between 89.59 - 90.99 and ships to anywhere in the world. Unlike other cleansing brushes I've seen, the Magnitone Lucid is available in 4 different colours: Plush Pink, Aqua Green, Dazzling Blue and Sunshine Yellow, giving you the opportunity to chose what colour you like most. It comes with a wireless travel charger, 2 plugs for use depending on your location and an instruction manual.

The cleansing brush is very easy to use. It has two modes: The deep clean mode and the sensitive mode, so it is great for all skin types. The deep clean mode can be activated by clicking the on button once while the sensitive mode is activated when the on button is clicked twice. The brush has a facial cleansing timer set for 20 secs for each zone, adding up to a total of 1 minute for cleansing. This is great because it sets just enough time to deep cleanse your pores and remove all impurities without the possibility of over cleansing. The Brush bristles are very soft and the brush is waterproof so you can even use it in the shower.

I used the brush for the 7 days specified on the product and noticed a difference in the brightness of my skin. My skin felt a lot cleaner than if just washed with cleanser, and clean pores mean less breakouts. After the 7 days results I got, I have been using it for the last 3 weeks and am very impressed with the brush and so glad to have it. I have now included this brush in my nighttime routine and look forward to having better skin.

Overall Summary
Price -  €89.59 - €90.99. Currently costs £49.99 in Superdrug {price differs depending on retailer}.
Likes - For daily cleansing, rechargable, cleansing timer.
Dislikes - None.
Verdict - New brush heads will be needed.
Available - Amazon, Feelunique, Superdrug etc

Review: Artdeco Skin Perfecting Makeup Base

Hello beauties. Today is finally another day to talk about face primers. I haven't posted a lot of face primers on the blog because I don't use them very often, but when I do I like to use a good one. With my skin type, you'd think I'd want to minimize my pores so my makeup applies perfectly. And yes I do, I just don't want the product to block my pores from breathing. Because let's face it, my skin is acne prone and has absolutely no problem having breakouts as is, so I don't want to give it any help by applying the wrong products.

I tried a face primer earlier from Catrice called the Prime & Fine Smoothing Refiner, but it didn't really work for me. After a couple of tries, I was forced to put it away and purchase a new one. I decided to go for the Artdeco Skin Perfecting Makeup Base, which is a tad pricey in comparison to the Catrice. But I wasn't ready to spend much more on the Benefit Porefessional, so I got it.

One thing I liked about this product straight away was that it comes with a pump. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of products you need to apply all over your face and repeatedly dip your fingers in a jar for each use. I feel that increases the changes of bacteria. So I'd say face primers should come in a tube or with a pump.

The Artdeco Skin Perfecting Makeup Base is a matte gel which applies very smoothly on the skin, it doesn't feel heavy and absorbs well. I would say it slightly mattified my skin but can't say if it really minimized my pores. But seeing as it allows your skin to breathe, I'd say it is ok for everyday use. I usually use about one pump of the product, but sometimes I want to add a bit more in my T zone. I apply it all over my face after using my moisturizer but before my mineral foundation.

I got this product a while back {I'd say about 3 months or so} but because I don't use it everyday, it has lasted a very long time. The product contains Vitamin E and minerals and excludes silicon or any parabens making it great for the skin.

Overall Summary
Price -  €15 {price differs depending on location}
Likes - It isn't heavy and applies smoothly.
Dislikes - Pricey and doesn really minimize pores.
Verdict - Not repurchasing.
Available - Douglas

Wishtrend Wishlist

Hello beauties. Today I am posting about a website which may not be very well known but has quite a few very interesting products I would like to try. Wishtrend is a Korean based company which promotes Korean beauty products. The items available range from makeup, skin care, hair, body care and other beauty tools and accessories.

Having found the site, I looked at all the available items and have put together a wishlist of the items I would mostly like to try first.
Because I love my hair and am trying to grow it out, I found the Argan oil hair products such as Argan Treatment Oil and the Argan Gold Treatment very interesting. If you've heard anything about Argan oil, you'd know how great it is for your hair. My current favourite Argan oil products are from Argandew. I reviewed their products in this post. If the korean ones are anything as good, then I would be one happy lady.

Another hair care product I'd really like to try is the Curling Essence. My hair is naturally curly, and even though I chemically straighten it, it still retains it's curliness but is just a lot easier to handle {which is how I like it}. On certain days, I like to embrace my curliness, but taming the frizz and keeping my curls in place could be quite difficult without using a hundred different products. So I'm always intrigued when I find one product that does it all.

I also looked at some body care bits. I'm actually running low on body moisturizers as I left most behind, so I'd like something new and refreshing. My favourite body lotion from the website is the Nature Holic Body Lotion: Pink Grapefruit. I had a body butter with the same scent in Latvia and could not get enough of it.

Since I have a lot of space for makeup after my clear out, I think it is only natural to get some new products. With Autumn almost here in Barcelona, I've been putting together my wardrobe and makeup collection for the season and think the Creme de Velvet Lip Matte lipsticks in Iron Lady and Bordeaux will be a great addition as well as the eyeshadow in Cardamine Purple.

So those are a few of my favourite bits from the website. Stop by Wishtrend and let me know what products you'd like to try.

Have you heard of Wishtrend? What is your favourite product?

Review: NYX Matte Bronzer

Hello beauties. I hope you are all having a good week. Bronzer is one product I use all the time, except if I'm going to the beach or having a no makeup day. I've used quite a few and while living in Latvia, I always found it hard to find a bronzer that was dark enough for my skin tone. So when I got a NYX gift card for my birthday in February, I was excited to see what products they have.

Once I got to the store, I swatched all the available bronzers and spoke to the sales personel. Finally, I decided to take the NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep. I've been using it for over 2 months and I really like it.

The bronzer comes in a compact black pad which I think is pretty strong. It also has a mirror which I think is quite handy {my other bronzers never had a mirror, which might have been better since they always end up falling out my hands}. The product itself is a deep brown matte colour, which is exactly what I wanted. No matter how much I love shimmer, I feel using products containing shimmer on my face just makes it look even more oily, especially when it comes to products like bronzers and blush.

The NYX Matte Bronzer is a nice finely pressed powder which applies and blends very easily, leaving my look with the illusion that I have naturally pronounced cheek bones. It is perfect for my everyday natural look. The product is available in 5 shades Light, Deep, Medium, Dark Tan and Deep Tan. I'd love to try one of the darker shades for days when I really want to contour, and because I've gotten a lot darker this Summer. All in all, this is one bronzer I'd recommend you try.

Overall Summary
Price -  €10.99
Likes - Great shade and applies smoothly.
Dislikes - None.
Verdict - Will try a darker shade.

Spylovebuy Wishlist A/W '14

Hello beauties. With Autumn around the corner and since I relocated and am looking for a new job, I've been looking at a lot of websites and considering what shoes I need. One website that really caught my eye was SpyLoveBuy. They have a great selection of shoes. Mostly I like their boots selection and decided to put together a wishlist.
SpyLoveBuy Wishlist A/W 14
Aberdeen Heeled Cleated Sole Platform Ankle Boots - Black Leather Style   |   Strut Block Heel Biker Ankle Boots - Black Leather Style    |   Dolcis Beflast Cleated Sole Platform Chelsea Ankle Boots - White Patent   |   Jorca Block Heel Cleated Sole Platform Shoes - White Leather Style   |   Paradise Stiletto Heel chain Concealed Platform Court Shoes - Red Suede Style
I liked quite a few items but was able to narrow my selection down to 3 pair of boots and 2 pair of shoes. I think all these items will be fab in the cold months. My favourites are the white cleated sole platform shoes, the chelsea boots and the biker boots. I feel they would be a great addition to my wardrobe as they would fit with anything and since I've recently been attracted to statement shoes, they fit perfectly.

The boots chosen would be very comfortable to walk in which is what I really need right now as I'd be using the metro/ train or tram to work depending on the location. The shoes are quite high and would make getting to work quickly quite difficult, but I could always wear them once I get to work. They are gorgeous and I think would look great with an office skirt and a blouse.

Which is your favourite? What would you pick from SpyLoveBuy?

Sunny Sateen Skort

How to style skorts, the perfect pair of summer skorts
Floral and bright outfit for Summer
Summer outfit inspiration, pair of skorts

I hope you are all having an amazing start to the week. Mine has been really sunny and I really hope these warm days last a bit longer. I'm just not yet ready to totally say goodbye to Summer and my summer outfits.

So while it's still warm, I recently ordered a couple of summer and autumn pieces from boohoo. From the day I made my order I was really excited to style the pieces I got, one of which was this pair of lovely Sateen Luxe Woven Skorts.

The fabric of the skort is bright and smooth. It is quite thick so it might get a bit hot on really warm days but I love it. On this specific day, I decided to pair it with a floral crop top, but I also think it will look great with a single coloured blouse and a pair of heels. I was quite confused about what to do with my hair so I rolled it up into some sort of messy bun to keep my hair away from my neck.

I'm considering styling this same pair of skorts for Autumn, so I'd love to hear your suggestions on how you'd style such a bright skirt for the colder months.

What do you think about my outfit & how would you style it?

Review: NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil

Hi beauties! I hope you are all having a great start to the week. Today, we are going to be talking about brows. Since I started to fill in my brows, I've mostly been using powders & a stencil as I found that gave me gorgeous looking smooth lines at the tips of my brows. Recently, I decided to venture out and try using a brow pencil instead as it gives a more natural look. The pencil I'm currently using is the NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil and I love it.

The NYX Auto Eyebrow Pencil has a brush on one end and the pencil on the other. It is called an auto pencil because you have to screw it out when you need to use it and then screw it back so it is protected and doesn't break. Which I think is pretty great because the pencil remains the same size and fits into your makeup bag if you want to take it out, unlike those which require sharpening and usually come quite long.

I've tired a few eyebrow pencils before, including one from Catrice but I felt the colour never really matched well and the texture wasn't good. This brush on the other hand is available in many different shades and applies smoothly, which is why I love it so much. It makes it easy to make a smooth line at the tip of your eyebrows for people like me who have sparse hair in that area.

I've used this eyebrow pencil for over two months {sometimes I use it twice a day} and I've still got enough to last me about another 2 weeks, making that about 3 months in total. I got this eyebrow pencil for approximately 6, which is more than I used to pay for my Catrice brow set, but I think it is still a great price.

Overall Summary
Price -  €6
Likes - Great colour and applies smoothly.
Dislikes - None.
Verdict - Definitely repurchasing.
Available - NYX stores, NYX Website
