Review: Catrice Prime and Fine Anti-Red Base

Hello beauties. I hope you all had a good week? I bet you're all excited it's Friday so we get to hang out with friends, sleep in and do some at home pampering. Today, I have another product review for you. This one being the Catrice Prime and Fine Anti-Red Base which is actually sort of a correcting primer. I've tried out the product and i'm sort of neutral about it. Usually the idea is that applying a green product on red areas on your face will reduce the redness. This products can be green concealer, green primer or even a bit of matte green eyeshadow. I've tried this technique with each of the products I just mentioned and it does work {in some cases better than others}.

The Catrice Anti-Red Base primer is a green cream which comes in a tube with a screw off cap. I like the packaging as it doesn't look cheap and I found it easy to use. The back of the product says "Soft green primer neutralizes redness and gives a long lasting even skin tone. Minimizes optically fine lines and pores. Use alone or under makeup." What is not said on the product and you'll never know this unless you swatch the product is that the green primer contains shimmer and glitter. I bought this product without swatching it as there were no testers, and was very surprised after I blended it on the back of my hand.

I use this product as a primer which means I use it after my moisturizer for before applying any makeup. Just apply a bit on your finger, dot it around your face and then blend it all together. I personally found that if I used too much it became hard to blend and would leave my face looking sort of pale and greenish, so I just use a bit. I do think it tones down the redness a bit but I don't like using it with my mineral powder foundation or just on it's own.

So overall I think it's ok to use when applying liquid foundation or bb creams, but I can't say it's a holygrail product for me.

Overall Summary
Price - approx. 4.50.
Likes - slightly tones down redness.
Dislikes - may leave you looking green.
Verdict - Not repurchasing.
Available - Drugstore.

Have you tried this product? What did you think?
