Review: Cutagen Gentlecare Clarifying Moisturizer & Refreshing Wash Gel

Hello beauties, I hope you're all having a fab week. I'm always looking to try new skincare products as I'm still trying to find the ones that fit my skin best and help control my acne and oily skin. So when I got the opportunity to try some products from Cutagen, I was obviously all for it. The best products for my skin type were suggested to be Cutagen Gentlecare Refreshing Wash Gel* and Cutagen Gentlecare Clarifying Moisturizer*.

I have been using these products for over 6 weeks so I feel comfortable telling you about my experience with it. I received the 30ml tubes of each of the products and they have lasted quite a while.

Cutagen Gentlecare Clarifying Moisturizer & Cutagen Gentlecare Refreshing Wash Gel

Cutagen Gentlecare Refreshing Wash Gel

The gel is a slightly yellow colour and made specifically for Normal, Combination, Oily and Sensitive Skin which means it is great for all skin types. It contains pro-vitamin B5, extracts of cucumber and camomile which have a calming effect on the skin, Vitamin E which improves the smoothness of the skin, Rosemary Oil which has antiseptic and disinfectant properties, Vitamin A and others. Because the gel is perfume free and colour free, it has a fresh smell to it with a hint of the different extracts but is nothing too strong, so for me this is not a problem. The Cutagen Refreshing Wash Gel is available in a 200ml bottle and costs £7.99.

Cutagen Gentlecare Clarifying Moisturizer

The Clarifying Moisturizer is a white lotion made for Combination, Oily, Blemished and Acneic Skin. It contains Rosemary Oil which has antiseptic and anti-microbial properties, Cucumber, Camomile and Borage extracts which calm and moisturize the skin, as well as other ingredients. These ingredients help clear the skin from blemishes while at the same time hydrating and replenishing the skin. On very hot days, I would feel the formula of the lotion as if heavy or greasy on my face and I didn't really like this, but that feeling goes away once it dries. The Cutagen Clarifying Moisturizer is available in a 75ml bottle and costs £5.49.

I started off using these products once a day and then when I saw I didn't have any negative reaction to it, I decided to try it out in my morning and evening routine. You only need very little of each product for it to be enough for your face. I know this is very cliche but a little really does go a very long way so even with constantly using the product, it has lasted me to properly test it out. While testing out these products, I noticed that my acne was under control. I would get a breakout or two but they were just regular zits rather than acne, which is a big step.

I know acne is not only about what you put on your skin but also what your diet is like, and I tend to keep my diet balanced as much as I can without going crazy on chocolate, fried food, alcohol and the rest. If you read my last skincare post on Help: Clear Skin, you'd know it didn't work for me and caused me to breakout {I'd suggest reading the full review}, so I've been sticking to my routine with the Cutagen products and it seems to be slowly helping get my skin back to the way it was. Considering that the products work for my skin and are not very expensive, I'd suggest giving these products a try if you have acne prone skin.

Overall Summary

Likes - helps control acne.
Dislikes - moisturizer feels greasy at first.
Verdict - Not my holygrail so looking to try new products.
Available - Cutagen.

  2. I have never heard of this brand. I only have very occasional breakouts, but would love to give this line a whirl. Do they have more skin care products, i.e. targeted treatments and masks?
