Mobilefun Phone Accessories

Mobile fun is an amazing company with lots of interesting products. I've gotten to try out quite a few items and have been happy with every one. You can check out my thoughts on the Olixar Encharge Pocket Charger and the Kitvision Escape HD5 Action Camera. This time, I've gotten a few phone accessories to try out.

The Olixar Pocketsize Selfie Stick* is a 7 inches long selfie stick which makes carrying it around very easy. The stick pulls out to 2ft making it possible to take a large group selfie. It is designed to fit any smarphone using an adjustable clip on the device mount. It functions using a cable which is to be connected to the phone and a shutter button on the grip of the stick. This is great because no charging is necessary in order to use the selfie stick. It also has a mirror which means you can take selfies using the rearview camera. I really love this because it means your selfies can be of better quality. Whenever I am going out, I'm always taking it around because it is light and doesn't take up much space in my bag. And I always want to have it around in case we decide to take a selfie.

In addition to the selfie stick I also got the Adarga Marble Effect iPhone 6 Case Gold/White*, the Adarga Hummingbird iPhone 6 Case in White* and the Olixar Lace iPhone 6 Case White*. These phone cases are all made of sturdy plastic which makes them a bit difficult to put on but I don't mind because that means they don't easily come off. I have been using these over the last few weeks and I'm very impressed with the quality. They haven't shown any sign of breaking, and the colour doesn't fade or come off like some cheap quality phone cases I've used over the years, some of which were almost twice the price of these. Mobilefun has got so many different cases at different prices, you'll be sure to find one you like.

I think phone accessories are great as gifts or stocking fillers, as well as other tech gadgets which can be found on Mobilefun. Their shipping is pretty fast too, so I think you'll still be able to get your order if you place it now.

Who else is a fan of phone accessories? Do you like the ones I chose?

Preparing for a Road Trip

Preparing for a roadtrip

In October, hubs and I took a road trip to the French Riviera. We stopped by Montpellier, Frejus, Nice, Cannes, Monaco and more. If you'd like to find out more details, be sure to check out my post and vlog. This was our first road trip so there are certain things we hadn't thought about when packing and realized only when we needed them in France. I thought I'd put together a few things I wish I had known before leaving Barcelona.

1. Research the sites you want to see in each city
When taking a roadtrip, it isn't enough to just decide on what cities you'd like to visit because you need to have specific destinations to put in the GPS. On our roadtrip, we decided on the cities but not on specific sites we would like to visit, so we had to spend time in the evenings searching for interesting locations for the next day. Don't be too rigid with where you'd like to visit though because delays can easily happen and you may not have time for everything.

2. Order a pocket wifi
When we were planning the trip, I started looking into pocket wifis and where I could get one. My first impression was that it was a bit of a hassle so when hubs asked if I really needed it, I decided I didn't. Boy was I wrong. I was so excited about the roadtrip I wanted to share what we are up to on social media all the time. The internet at the first hotel was ok but that at the second was totally crap. I couldn't get anything to work, and when it finally did, it took forever. That's when I realized I should have gotten the pocket wifi.

3. Take an electric kettle
A road trip isn't a cheap vacation because you'll need to rent a car, book hotels, pay for tolls and the rest. Living in hotels means you'll either have to eat out all the time (which can be pretty expensive) or try and make some food yourself. For breakfast, you can get some fruits and croissants, and make some tea. And for dinner you can make some couscous and have some tuna. This is where the electric kettle is important.

4. Take cash for tolls
Roadtrip means you cannot avoid tolls entirely, and tolls don't always take credit or debit cards. I would also recommend taking lots of coins or lower value cash so you don't have problems with change. We hadn't thought about this much and ended up in a bit of a situation at some of the tolls, so learn from my mistakes.

5. Get some snacks
Before you set out, make sure to get some snacks from the supermarket. You're going to need it and it'll be cheaper than getting it at the gas station afterwards.

6. Take a pocket charger
Anyone who does a lot of moving around or is going on vacation needs a pocket charger. I honestly have no idea how I lived without mine because it makes life so much easier. I've got the Olixar Encharge Portable Charger which gives enough power to charge your phone 5 times. It is very handy if you're using your phone as a GPS, taking loads of pictures etc.

Do you have any tips on preparing for a road trip?

Christmas Gift Guide: Fitness & Adventure

Christmas Gift Guide for Fitness and Adventure lovers
Mi Band Fitness Monitor and Sleep Tracker   |   Pebble Time Smartwatch   |   Breville Blend Active   |   Define Bottle   |   B'Twin Bike Mount   |   Tribord Subea 3mm Wetsuit   |   Toshiba Camileo X-Sports
Over the years I've done a few gift guides and think those are still amazing posts, so be sure to check out 15 Gift Ideas Under 15 for her, Gift Guide for Men and the Gadget Girl Gift Guide. This time I thought I'd do one focused on fitness and adventure because this year I've gotten a bit more into both of these.

You've probably heard and seen the fitness bands and smartwatches everywhere. The fitness bands give you the possibility to monitor daily exercise and sleep routine. You can set daily goals and monitor your progress by synching them to your smartphone. The Mi Band is a great example which is waterproof and inexpensive. If you'd like to up the game on this, then you need a smartwatch like the Pebble Time which is compatible with both Android and iOS, and not only does the job of a fitness band but also gives you access to your emails, social media, music and more.

Next, I've included some nutrition related bits because nutrition is a huge part of health, so any fitness enthusiast will love the Breville Blend Active which is an on the go smoothie maker. Just put in some tasty fruits and vegetables, mix them up and take it with you. Infused water is something I have been doing for quite a while, and I've got a post on the Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water so go check that out. The Define Bottle gives you the opportunity to easily make infused water and take it with you anywhere you go. I think staying hydrated is much easier when you drink infused water.

For those who like cycling, I've added the B'Twin Smartphone Bike Mount. This way you can set up your navigation if you do not know how to get to a location. And for water sports lovers, the Tribord Subea 3mm Wetsuit is a great choice for snorkelling in the Spring or Autumn. Talking about snorkelling, I never knew how much I love action cameras until I tried out the Kitvision Escape HD5, but that unfortunately drowned during an incident on one of my snorkelling trips. Action cameras are amazing if you love water sports as they are waterproof and let you capture the beauty under the sea. But not only that, they are great for recording a variety of sports and the Toshiba Camileo X-Sports has similar features as the Go pro Hero4 Silver but at a lower price. I've definitely got my eye on it for next spring.

I think these gifts are great not only for Christmas, but for birthdays as well. If you have any more suggestions, please be sure to leave them in the comments below.

What have you gotten friends and family for Christmas?

Protective Style: Marley Twists

DIY Marley Twists

The last time I tried braids was in 2010 when I went back to Nigeria for vacation. The takeout process was extremely painful, so I never bothered getting it done again. Recently though, I was looking at all the different braids and my girl Katy had jumbo braids done which looked amazing so I asked her how she did it. That's when I found out about Marley Braids/ Twists. Braids/twists are a great protective hairstyle when transitioning as you don't need to manipulate your hair for quite a while. The Marley Twists were my favourite from all the videos and posts I saw because they look a lot more natural.

I ordered 5 packs of marley hair in Medium Brown from Diversity Hair. When they arrived, they looked smaller than I'd expected, but I didn't want to wait to order more so I decided to just do them with the 5 packs. I watched some youtube videos on how to do the invisible root method, got everything ready and began the process. This was my first time doing them myself and all in all it took me 8 hours. I spent quite a bit of time practicing as I couldn't get the twists right at first, but after a few tries, I began getting the hang of it. I think the longest part of the whole process was prepping the extensions. I wanted the braids to be big so I divided and combed the hair slightly before twisting.

I've had the twists in for over a week and I love them. There are lots of different ways you can style them and I don't need to worry about braiding my hair every other night to blend the textures. The only problem I have with them is washing my hair. My hair is so used to being co-washed every 3 days that I just couldn't take it and co-washed on the 5th day. Obviously this means the roots now look a bit messy, but oh well better than having an itchy head. I'm going to redo a few of them in front so it looks better and try to keep them in for about 3 weeks before taking them out. I'm not sure how the takeout process will go this time around, but hopefully everything will be fine. Because based on that, the decision on if I'll put the twists/braids in again will be made.

If you have any tips on how to do the braids/twists, how to manage them or how to take them down, please let me know. I'd love to hear your ideas as I am a total newbie when it comes to such braids.

What do you think of my results?

Review: Catrice Lumination Eyeshadow in Radiant Rose

Catrice Lumination Limited Edition Eyeshadow
Catrice Limited Edition Eyeshadow
Catrice Lumination Eyeshadow in Radiant Rose
Catrice Lumination Eyeshadow in Radiant Rose Swatch

The sparkly season is now upon us, and even though I am a matte girl at heart when it comes to everyday eyeshadow, I like a bit of glitter on the weekends or evenings out. A while ago I reviewed the Catrice Lumination Edition Lipstick in Radiant Rose. While picking that up, I also picked up the matching eyeshadow because well why not when the colour is so pretty.

The Catrice Lumination Limited Edition Eyeshadow in Radiant Rose is a soft pearl colour with lots of fine glitter. The eyeshadow is very smooth, well pigmented and doesn't have a lot of fall out as is usually the case with glitter eyeshadows. It caught my eye because I thought this shade would look beautiful on me and I was right. It is such a pretty colour for a smokey eye look or just on the inner corners of your eyes. I've also tried using it as a highlighter and it works wonders. I tested it when doing my friend's contour and I think it looks even better on lighter skin tones.

I usually use this in combination with the Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base and it looks great for about 6 hours after which it becomes a bit more dull. When used on its own, the sparkle begins to fade after 3 hours or so. So this may not be your best choice for a party night but a great option for dinner or a few drinks. It reminds me of the MAC Pressed Pigment in Flicker but without the large glitter.

Overall Summary
Price -  approx. €4
Likes - well pigmented, gorgeous shade.
Dislikes - none.
Verdict - recommended.
Available - drugstores.

New in: Beauty and Skincare from Iherb

Iherb skincare and beauty haul
Dikinson's Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Oil for Acne

Recently, I placed another iherb order. I just can't stay away for a long time because they have so many amazing products. The first thing I put in my cart was the Natrol Omega 3-6-9 which I had been taking for a while and was running out. Because I don't eat enough fish, I find taking supplements helps me get the daily dose I need. Next was the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Makeup Sponge because mine was getting to the end of its lifeline and I needed a replacement. This is my favourite beauty tool for applying foundation as it gives me a good natural finish. You can read my full review here.

After getting the essentials, I went for skincare. I've heard everyone talking about Dikinson's Witch Hazel for problem skin and since I was experiencing a bad phase with my skin I decided to finally give it a go. It doesn't smell very well but it's worth it if it helps clear up my skin. Tea tree oil is another product everyone recommends if you have acne, so I popped the Cococare 100% Tea Tree Oil in my cart. While living in Nigeria, I was using the Dudu Osun Black Soap for my skin sometimes and when I saw the Nubian African Black Soap, I wanted to try it out right away.

I have been using natural oils for my hair for years now and Jojoba oil is great for your hair and skin. It is said to be the only oil which closely resembles human sebum, and can therefore be used to trick the skin into thinking it has produced enough oil. It is a non-comedogenic oil so is great for oily acne prone skin. I saw a video a while back where it was implied that using cold pressed jojoba oil as a moisturizer can help regulate the production of sebum and make your skin less oily in the long run. The Hobe Naturals Jojoba Oil fit the criteria and I've been using it as a moisturizer for a few days now. I am unsure how I feel about it for now but after testing it out properly, I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

Have you gotten anything from iherb lately? What are your fave skincare products?

Review: Maple Holistics Dead Sea Mineral Youth Face Mask

Maple Holistics Dead Sea Mineral Youth
Maple Holistics Dead Sea Mud Mask
Dead Sea Mud Mask
Dead Sea Mud Mask for Acne, Wrinkles etc

Face masks are important whether you have problem skin or not. They help with unclogging pores, moisturizing and providing the skin with nutrients and vitamins that it needs. What's even better is an all natural face mask. Because we can't all afford to go to the spa every weekend, you can use the face masks for an at home pamper session. I've been given the opportunity to try out some Maple Holistics products and the first one I decided to test is the Dead Sea Mineral Youth* face mask.

The Dead Sea Mud Mask comes in a jar and is a thick consistency which is dark grey in colour. When I received it, it came with a spoon which I was extremely happy about as dipping your fingers constantly into the jar means you could be transferring dirt and bacteria. The Dead Sea Mud Mask contains all natural ingredients including Pure Dead Sea Mud, German Chamomile, Lavendar, Green Myrtle, Clary Sage and Biodeyness EMPP which in combination cleanse and detoxify the skin, as well as reduce inflammation, balance oily skin and help with wrinkles. The product is hypoallergenic, paraben free and vegan friendly.

I have been using this face mask once a week for a while now. I usually apply the mask and leave it on until it is completely dry before washing it off. When the mask is freshly applied, I can sometimes feel the tingling. I think this is mostly when I have some active breakouts. Once I've washed it off, my skin feels very smooth, clean and soft. Even though it doesn't feel dry, I usually end the night with a moisturizer. Over the time I've been using this mud mask, I've noticed that my acne isn't as red and has reduced. This makes me very happy because my skin was acting horribly. I would definitely recommend giving this a go to see how it works for you. And for an all natural product I think the price is amazing.

Overall Summary
Price -  approx. €13
Likes - reduces inflamation and helps with acne.
Dislikes - none.
Verdict - recommended.
Available - Maple Holistics, Amazon.

Travel: French Riviera Roadtrip (Montpellier, Cote d'Azur and Monaco)

Port de toulon, France
Nice, France
National Theatre, Nice
Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Nice, France
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Cannes, France
French Riviera Roadtrip with my dog

Some of you may know that at the end of October we took a roadtrip to the French Riviera. It was our very first roadtrip and we were very excited. Our plan was to go visit my friend in Montpellier, stop by a few places in Cote d'Azur and maybe Monaco. We hadn't decided 100% on all the destinations in Cote d'Azur but had a good idea. We rented a car for the trip and as always took my little girl Candy with us so I booked pet friendly hotels.

The journey from Barcelona to Montpellier was quick. It is about a 3 hour ride but we made a stop to get some fuel and walk the dog. I didn't do much exploring in Montpellier as I was mostly interested in hanging out with my friend. She took us to some amazing bars: the first one had a self service tap where you pay with a special card, the other one had a drink lottery, and lastly the one with the chocolate beers. We stayed in Montpellier overnight and drove out the next morning. Day 2 was mostly spent on the road since we drove by Aubagne, Marseille and Toulon before getting to our hotel in Frejus. The drive to Frejus was longer and more tiring, but we still went for a walk once we arrived.

For Day 3, we had planned Nice and Monaco. Some of the places in Nice we wanted to visit were Musée Marc Chagall and the Russian Orthodox Cathedral, but both of these were closed. And after a bit of confusion with the GPS, we found the Jardin Alber 1er and Le Miroir d'eau. We spent a lot of time in Nice and really liked the city but it was time to move on to Monaco where we stopped by Monte Carlo.

We weren't sure where we wanted to go for Day 4 but finally decided on Cannes and Antibes. The beach in Cannes was amazing. So calm and clear which is perfect for snorkelling. But since we didn't have wet suits we decided against getting into the water as it is really cold. We walked down the Boulevard de la Croisette, stopped by the Festival de Cannes and then headed off to Exflora park in Antibes.

We spent day 5 driving home, with a quick stop for lunch in Montpellier to see my friend again. The drive back was more difficult as we made less stops in order to get home faster. Our trip wasn't without a few hiccups but in general everything went smoothly and was amazing. The next one will be around Spain.

I tried to put together a short vlog about our trip. Check it out and don't forget to subscribe to my channel.

Have you done any Europe Roadtrips? Where else should we visit?

Flexi Rod Tips & Tricks

Flexi Rod Tips and Tricks

After constantly watching videos on youtube, I finally gave the flexi rods a try. I started off on dry hair and used a leave-in conditioner, hair oil and the Fantasia Argan Oil Curl Styling Pudding. You can read my post or watch the video for more details. Thinking back on how I did the curls, the products I used and what results I achieved. I've come up with a list of some of the lessons I learned and what I would do differently the next time I try this protective style again.

Do not overdo it with product

I wasn't sure how much curl pudding I needed for each section so I just applied enough to saturate it. Doing the back of my hair was a bit more complicated when it came to this, and I ended up using more product than needed. So the curl pudding just sat on the hair at the back of my head in white chunks which I didn't notice at first.

For soft curls, use a lightweight product

Curl puddings give hairstyles a nice hold, but some give too much hold and make it very crunchy. I would suggesting using a setting or wrapping lotion if you want to achieve soft curls. These will probably hold for a lower number of days, but I tend to co-wash twice a week so using a lighter products is fine for me.

Start off on dry hair to save on air drying time

This hairstyle takes longer to dry than braid outs or twist outs. So if you do not plan on staying under a hooded dryer, then you have to start off on dry hair or be prepared to wait endlessly for it to dry. I started off on dry hair and it took mine about 5 hours to dry. Imagine if I did this on wet hair and decided to air dry?!

Make sure the hair is 100% dry before you take out the rods

Styles like this always require the hair to be fully dry in order to get the best results. If you take out the rods while your hair is still damp, the curls with be stretched and will have frizz. So make sure to check the middle of your hair, and if that is dry then go ahead and take out the rods.

Do you have any tips on how to get the perfect flexi rods?

Review: Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base

Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base
Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base Review
Catrice Eyeshadow Base Review
Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base Swatch

After a bit of time off while I was travelling France and Monaco, I'm back with another post. I'll tell you all about my trip in a future post, but for now let's talk Beauty. Ever since the first time I tried an eyeshadow base, I've hardly done my eyeshadows without it. I've tried the Artdeco Eyeshadow Base and the Essence Eyeshadow Base. Both of these were good but I'm on the hunt for the perfect one so I'm going to keep trying. Recently I picked up the Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base which comes in a tube just like lipgloss. I was excited to try this because I expected the formula to be good and easy to use.

The Catrice Eyeshadow Base comes in a matte packaging which has a pleasant rubbery feel to it. The tube packaging makes it easy to apply and it will not dry up. The consistency is creamy and just the right thickness so it doesn't make your skin feel sticky when applied. I've noticed that this is the type of formula that works best for me. It dries quickly and leaves a smooth base for applying your eyeshadow. For my everyday eyeshadow, I usually lean towards my Makeup Revolution, ELF or MUA palettes. Most have enough pigmentation and last a few hours before they begin to crease. With the Catrice Eyeshadow Base, I am able to wear these eyeshadows without any creasing for up to 9 hours. I was very impressed when I noticed this because I was expecting it to start creasing around the 6 hour mark.

Honestly I have nothing negative to say about the product because I am in love with the formula and stay, and the packaging is very comfortable for application and travel. I think this is a great affordable eyeshadow base and would recommend you give it a go to see how it works for you.

Garment Quarter Accessories Wishlist

Garment Quarter Accessories Wishlist ft. Vivienne Westwood, Versace and more
Vivienne Westwood Orb London Ceramic Watch   |   Versus Versace Tokyo Crystal Watch   |   White Versace Sunglasses 0VE4270   |   Vivienne Westwood AN858 Sunglasses   |   Vivienne Westwood Opio Saffiano Mini Handbag   |   Vivienne Westwood Bow Flap Bag   |   Vivienne Westwood Snake Board Game Weekender Bag   |    Paul Smith Degrade Colour Stripe Silk-Blend Scarf
Style doesn't have to be expensive, and usually I stick to high street stores for basics like shirts, jeans and the rest because I pick trendy items which go out of style. But when it comes to accessories, I love a good designer item. They are of better quality, hence they last a lot longer than high street items. Sometimes, I find it more expensive spending on a highstreet item which may or may not live up to my expectations, when I could have saved up a bit and gotten something else. Garment Quarters is a store which specializes in designer clothes and accessories and includes brands like Versace, Vivienne Westwood, Victoria Beckham, Paul Smith and more. Once I checked out the accessories section, I was hooked and fell in love with quite a few bits.

Watches used to be part of my everyday style, but I haven't been wearing them a lot in the last year. I think this started after working from home for a while and not needing to, but now I'm ready to get back in the game. The Orb London Ceramic watch and the Tokyo Crystal watch had me drooling all over. Sunglasses are also a great investment since I live in Barcelona where it's sunny most of the year. After flipping though all the sunglasses available on the website, my favourites were the white Versace Sunglasses and the Black Vivienne Westwood Sunglasses. They are both classic designs with category 3 lens which gives great protection from the sun and UV rays.

Another accessory I think it's worth forking out the cash for are bags. Totes, crossbody bags, shoulder bags, you name it. I've had my MK bag for almost a year now and it doesn't have a single thing wrong with it, so I'm trying to slowly build a collection. Small designer bags are perfect for evenings out, and black or burgundy are great Autumn colours, so I've got my eye on the Vivienne Westwood black Mini Handbag and burgundy Bow Flap Bag. Both of these are small, elegant and easy to carry; even though I'd have preferred the burgundy one with a longer strap. With going away on vacation, I've been thinking what I take and where I stuff it in when I came across the Snake Board Game Weekender Bag which I just had to include because it brought up so many childhood memories. Lastly, I am loving this Degrade Colour Stripe scarf which would look perfect with the cream leather jacket I got recently.

Garment Quarter are currently running a competition with Stylist where you could win a £500 voucher to spend online, so make sure to enter here. I'd enter myself if it wasn't open only to UK residents.

Which of these items should I pick for Christmas?

Review: set of 12 hairchalks review
Pastel and crazy colour hair using hairchalks
Aqua hair using hairchalks

You've probably seen the crazy hair color trend which is taking over the world right now. I cannot even count the number of pastel hair, deep crazy colours or even rainbow hair pictures I've seen. Because we are not all brave to permanently dye our hair an unnatural colour but really want to try out the trend to see how we like it, the hairchalks are a great idea since they wash off when the hair is shampooed. I've been given the opportunity to try out one of the sets. I decided to pick the Independence Red Blue Ombre Set of 12* because of the range of colours.

I was very excited for them to arrive because I've wanted to try out an ombre effect with a colour like purple or aqua. The hairchalks from are designed to be used wet and you have a few options how to do that. You can either wet your hair and run the chalk along it, wet both your hair and the chalk, or melt the chalk in water to make a paste and apply that to your hair. I found it worked best for me when I used dry chalk on wet hair. I tried out a few colours almost immediately and learnt a few things. Firstly, if you have dark hair then your best bet are the lighter colours like aqua as opposed to the dark purple. Secondly, it isn't possible to colour your hair with the chalks and then braid it because the entire colour comes off by the time you're done.

So, when I decided to do the ombre effect, I was faced with a bit of a difficulty when using this product because since I am transitioning to my natural hair, I always live in braid outs or twist outs in order to blend the two textures. I chose to do a half up-do keeping the top in a bun so I don't have to curl all of my hair. Working in small sections, I sprayed my hair with some water and then applied the chalk. Once I was done, I carefully combed my hair to remove the tangles and excess colour, lightly blow dried my hair and then curled it using my Sapphire 8-in-1 curler. To give it a fuller look, I separated the curls and was ready to go.

I think this product would work great on a wash and go on natural curly hair or on straight hair. Just make sure you are wearing some old clothes and have a towel on to avoid the powder getting all over the place. I was extremely happy with the results and the colour. So much so I am considering doing an aqua ombre using semi-permanent dye.

Overall Summary
Price -  $ 18.70
Likes - temporary hair colour that washes off when the hair is shampooed
Dislikes - only works on wet hair or with a wet chalk

Dr. Miracles Damaged Hair Medicated Treatment Review
Dr. Miracles Medicated Treatment on transitioning hair

In my 'Current Deep Conditioners' post, I told you a bit about the Dr. Miracles Damaged Hair Medicated Treatment. I had never tried Dr. Miracles products but when I saw this treatment I thought it might be good for transitioning hair as the relaxed part is very damaged. After the first time using the product, I was honestly extremely excited to write a review about it because I liked the feeling it gave, but I needed to test it out some more and see how my hair reacts to it.

Dr. Miracles Damaged Hair Medicated Treatment* has a very thick and dense consistency so you'll really have to scoop it to get it out. It applies quite smoothly to the hair but in order to get all your strands saturated in the product I would definitely advise dividing your hair into a minimum of 4 sections. The treatment mask contains menthol which helps to increase blood flow to the scalp therefore stimulating hair growth and Aloe Vera which adds moisture, improves hair growth and helps with dandruff. It also contains oils such as Jojoba oil, Avocado oil, Olive oil and Sweet Almond oil which are great for promoting shiny hair, moisturizing the hair and sealing in the moisture.

The product instructions say to apply it to your hair, leave for 1-3 minutes and then wash it off. I find that this is great for a quick treatment when you do not have a lot of time. But for me it works best as a deep treatment so I leave it for about 30 minutes while I do a few things around the house or 10 minutes under my soft bonnet dryer. I love the tingly feeling it gives when applied to the scalp but I find the scent very strong. I'm not very sensitive to scents but even I prefer to open the bathroom window when I'm using this product, so keep this in mind if you're scent sensitive.

That being said, I am extremely happy with the results this product has given me. I use it once a week and it has made my hair healthier. It works great for transitioning or damaged hair, so if you've damaged your hair with heat or you constantly colour your hair then I'd recommend giving this a go.

Review: Catrice Lumination Lipstick in Radiant Rose

Catrice Limited Edition Lumination Lipstick
Catrice Lumination Lipstick in Radiant Rose Review and Swatch

While visiting the drugstore a few weeks ago, I noticed that the Catrice stand had another Limited Edition Collection out on display. I love the limited editions from Catrice because they are always beautiful, but this time they had me speechless. The Lumination Limited Edition Collection is beyond beautiful and very affordable. In my latest New In post you can check out what items I picked up, one of which was the Lumination Lipstick in Radiant Rose.

It was love at first sight when I saw the gold packaging of the lipstick. The lipstick itself is a clear colour with lots of pink and gold shimmer, sort of like a lipbalm with glitter. It applies smoothly and is very moisturizing, and can be worn as an everyday shade or for an evening out. I also really like that if you forgot to reapply the lipstick after a meal, it isn't so obvious. I've been wearing it a lot to work topped over my MAC Brave lipstick or just by itself and I have been loving it. If you wear just the lipstick, it doesn't have a long staying power but that doesn't bother me.

I am honestly very impressed as I've never owned a lipstick that looks as glamorous as this for the price tag. I can't wait to try it over a dark lip for an evening out.

Review: Fantasia Argan Oil Curl Styling Pudding

Fantasia Argan Oil Curl Styling Pudding
Fantasia Argan Oil Curl Styling Pudding Review
Fantasia Argan Oil Curl Pudding on Transitioning hair

When you do protective styles such as braidouts, twistouts, fexirods and what not, you usually want a product that can hold the curl in place and give you the possibility to wear the hairstyle for a few days before having to wash it. I don't like using hair gels because I think my hair looks a bit strange afterwards, so I usually opt for curling creams or puddings. Lately, I've been using the Fantasia Argan Oil Curl Pudding* for most of my hairstyles and thought I'd share my thoughts on it. I picked up this product because I was running out of the Texture My Way Keep It Curly Ultra Defining Curl Pudding and went to pick it up again, but La Bella Cosmetics ended up being out of stock. So since I'm such a huge fan of argan oil, this was my next pick.

The Fantasia Argan Oil Curl Styling pudding contains argan oil as well as Mango, Aloe Vera, Slippery Elm, Horsetail and other extracts. It has a jelly like consistency which gives your hair a nice hold and leaves it moisturized. What I didn't like straight away was that it doesn't smell good, which may not be the most important thing but I prefer my hair products to smell fruity/floral or something similar.

I usually use this product for braidouts. I apply it on damp hair and sleep with my braids in. It leaves my hair looking great and holds the style in place for days without looking dry. In my First Attempt At Flexi Rods video, I tried using this product for my flexi rods. It left me with very defined curls which were a bit crunchy but not too stiff and that was fine for me. But then I noticed that I had white chunks sitting on my hair which looked horrible and I had to get them out with water. This may have been because I did the flexi rods on dry hair, or maybe I used too much product. Either way, I believe you will achieve the best results with this product when using it on damp hair. I also occasionally use this product to tame my edges, as it does the job perfectly.
