Current Deep Conditioning Products #1

Deep Conditioners I'm currently using

Whatever your hair type, whether curly, wavy, straight, kinky or coily, deep conditioning is important. Depending on the texture and health of your hair, you might need to do this more often than others but I'd definitely recommend deep conditioning every 2 weeks or once a month even if your hair is healthy.

My hair is extremely dry and I'm currently transitioning to my natural hair, which means my hair needs a bit more love than normal. So I like to have a deep conditioning session every week. Depending on how my hair is feeling I would use either a protein rich conditioner, a moisture rich conditioner or a homemade hair mask. The actual products I use tend to change from time to time as I like to try out new products but here are the ones I currently own:

Dark & Lovely Ultra Cholesterol Intensive Treatment

This is one of my all time favourites. I've mentioned it a few times on my blog or youtube and honestly would recommend it to anyone with damaged hair. I started off using it as a kid and it always left my hair moisturized, smooth and and less damaged. I also really like the smell of this conditioner. It contains Castor Oil which protects against split ends and contributes to hair growth. The slip is great making detangling very easy in the shower, and you can use it as an instant conditioner as well as a deep conditioner.

ORS Hair Mayonnaise

Hair needs protein in order to be healthy. You can apply protein to your hair by doing an at home egg mask but to be honest that is very messy. The ORS Hair Mayonnaise* provides your hair with both protein and moisture. The egg powder in the product provides the protein needed and the essential oils such as Olive oil, Safflower seed oil and lanolin oil moisturize your hair. This is something I really like about this product because you always need to balance the amount of protein and moisture your hair gets, as too much protein can make your hair hard. I noticed a difference in my hair the very first time I used this product which is not something I usually notice with products. You can read my full review here.

Dr. Miracles Damaged Hair Medicated Treatment

This is one of my more recent additions. I've seen Dr. Miracles products around all the time and always wondered how they were different from others. I was looking for something to boost hair growth as I honestly cannot wait to get to a length when I can cut off all the damaged part of my hair. I stumbled across the Dr.Miracles Damaged Hair Medicated Treatment* and even though I don't like how it smells I decided to give it a go and see how I like it. It contains menthol, jojoba oil, avocado oil, Aloe Vera and lots of other vitamins and mineral making it extremely good for the hair. I've only used this product a few times so my opinion is inconclusive but you can definitely feel the tingle.

Texture My Way Texture Control Moisture Intensive Dual Conditioner

This is my latest addition which I haven't gotten around to giving a try. I've tried the Texture My Way Keep It Curly Ultra-Defining Curl Pudding which was so good I went back for another jar but they were all out, so I decided to try the Texture Control Moisture Intensive Dual Conditioner*. One of the things I love most about this brand is the smell of their products. Seriously heaven in a jar if you like sweet scents. I was attracted to the conditioner because it contains Shea butter, Olive oil, Carrot seed oil, Glycerin, Horsetail Extract and other ingredients making this product very moisturizing and good for hair growth. I'll be sure to let you know what I think about it once I give it a go.

All these products were gotten from La Bella Cosmetics but can also be found on amazon or your local afro shop. Let me know what are your favourite deep conditioners to use as I'll be looking to try some new ones once I'm all out of these.

Have you tried any of these?
