DIY Balayage with Colorcrem Blonde Box Creative Kit

Balayage is the new replacement for ombre and I've got to say I am liking it a lot more. I've had ombre before and I really loved it then, but now I prefer the subtle addition balayage gives to the hair. After months of thinking about balayage and looking at pinterest images and videos, I finally decided to take the plunge, so I picked up the Colocrem Blonde Box Creative Kit by Keranove. I was quite nervous to do this myself because bleaching your hair damages it and since I am just getting my curls back, I didn't want to ruin them, but I really wanted the balayage look.

The Colorcrem Blonde Box contains 5 items including bleaching powder, developer, anti-yellowing shampoo, a brush and gloves. To get the mixture necessary to lighten your hair, you need to mix the bleaching powder with the developer/ revealing cream and apply it in strokes to your hair. I divided my hair horizontally in 4 sections and started working from the back. I applied the mixture to the ends of my hair and worked upwards while making certain strokes longer and others shorter.

Because curly hair is so forgiving with ombre and balayage, the process was quite easy since I wasn't bothered about getting a harsh line. I left the mixture on my hair for 15 minutes and then washed it off. And this is where trouble began because my hair turned slightly green. The reason was easily explainable because while on vacation I dyed my hair purple in the hopes that it would show on my dark hair, but that didn't happen. The dye was supposed to wash away after 5-15 washes and even though I thought enough time had passed, I still had some blue pigment in my hair which mixed with the yellow when bleaching and resulted in green. Because I held it for just 15 minutes I didn't get the colour I want but the issue now was getting the green out. After trying ketchup and that not working I waited a while and used another pack of the Colorcreme Blonde Box. This lightened my hair some more but didn't get the green out unfortunately. For now, I neutralized the green using conditioner mixed with temporary hair colour, but this washes off.

I really like the Colorcrem Blonde Box because I didn't feel like my hair was excessively dry after it and it didn't make my hair go orange but instead went a nice blonde colour, especially at the back where I started from. I'm still thinking about if I want to do another treatment on the front section in a few months to make the blonde more visible, but I'm happy with the results I've gotten and it'll look even better when the green is out, so if you have any tips on how to get the green out of my hair, please let me know.
