My Go To Products For A Daily Natural Look

Makeup products I use daily

I love trying out new beauty products, whether it's the new lipstick by Maybelline, or that amazing mascara from Rimmel everyone is raving about. I may have lots of makeup but in the end there are only a handful of products which I use daily. These are pretty much my staples, although I would occasionally switch up the products. Either way, the overall look is very similar.


After cleansing and toning, I apply a thin layer of my current acne treatment and then moisturizer. For moisturizers, I usually vary between the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for oily skin, the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-free Acne Moisturizer or the IQ Natural AHA Moisturizer. To control my oily skin, I use the Inglot Mattifying Under Makeup Base. After this, it's time to apply foundation. My foundation is one product I don't usually switch because of how difficult it is to match the right shade with my yellow undertone. So I have been st the MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in shade NC42, and usually apply a base layer before applying some more on areas with dark acne scars. If needed, I will use some concealer for under eye circles.

Next, I move on to my eyebrows and I always use the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme and the Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel. I usually go for a full brow. You can check out all the details in my post about my Current Eyebrow Routine. Once I'm done with my brows, I apply one coat of transparent mascara to prime my lashes, and then two coats of mascara. For mascara, I've been loving the Rimmel Extra 3D Lash Mascara because it gives me both volume and length. If I've got a bit more time, I apply eyeshadow. My daytime colours are dark brown and gold for a neutral look.

MAC Brave lipstick for everyday makeup


My lip choice usually depends on my mood and time availability. But what I never skip is a lip balm or butter. I've got quite a few of these, so I usually go for whichever is closest in the drawer. If I'm running low on time, I do my lips in the car. My current go to lipstick is the MAC Satin finish lipstick in Brave or Cremeshene lipstick in Creme In your Coffee.

Those are pretty much all the products I use at the moment. I used to set my makeup with the Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray, but I've recently run out and I'm currently looking for other setting sprays for oily skin, so If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

Easy To Pack Healthy Snacks For Work

Eating healthy is great for your body, not just because you're getting all the right nutrients, but also because you will look and feel good. For those who have a 9-6 job, this might sound difficult, but it's not if you plan ahead. We usually do our grocery shopping on Saturdays and I always decide what I'll need for the entire week (including snacks). And whenever I'm going to work, I always pack lunch and snacks so I'm not left hungry. Because once you're feeling hungry at work with no healthy snacks near by, you'll be reaching for nasty junk food which you don't need.

Since I'm at work, I need the snack to be ready and fuss free. I want to be able to get it out and start eating without needing to prep at the office. I usually snack at about 4pm, unless I'm feeling really hungry earlier. I try to vary the snacks daily & weekly to keep me from getting bored. Some of the healthy snacks I pack include:

Fresh Fruits

Fresh fruits are great for snacking because they provide lots of vitamins and are easy to consume. I usually pick fruits like bananas, apples, grapes, kiwis, strawberries and blueberries. I always wash my fruits at home and if needed cut them up, then I'll either put it in a zip lock bag or a container. I also always eat a handful of nuts with my fruits. This provides protein and keeps you full longer.

Dried Fruits

Sometimes I'm not big on prepping food for the next day due to being extremely busy or just so exhausted I can barely make it to bed. For times like this, I always try to keep some dried fruits available at home and work. This way I can skip my food prep that night. My favourite dried fruits are goji berries, cranberries and apricots.


Nuts are a great source of protein, and healthy snacks which you can easily have at work. You can keep some at the office or prep them the night before. I usually vary my selection of nuts between almonds and walnuts which haven't been salted. But I'll occasionally have some salted cashew nuts because I've been unable to find them in any other form.


At some point I didn't like the taste of humus, but now, I don't think you can ever open my refrigerator and not find at least one jar. Humus is a bit messier than the snacks I've suggested above, but it's so good and I love it. You can have some carrots, cucumber or celery with it, as well as rice cakes.

Peanut/Almond Butter

Peanut/Almond butter is another slightly messier alternative but tastes really good. Scoop out a small amount into a jar and take some sliced up apples in a zip lock bag, and you're good to go. You can also make a PB & banana roll as a snack or even for breakfast.

Those are some of my current snack selections. You can also make yoghurt with strawberries and banana, or chia pudding as a snack, but these are my less popular choices. Please let me know how you maintain a healthy lifestyle while working an office job.

Celebrations and Exploring Calella, Spain

Last week I took the week off as it was time to celebrate hubs' 30th birthday. Everyone says turning 30 isn't like every other birthday {I'm yet to find out} so we decided to go big or go home. We had friends flying in from different countries and decided to rent a house outside of Barcelona for the week. Our final choice was a duplex in Calella which had enough sleeping places for all 15 of us, a swimming pool and barbecue, which is pretty much all we needed.

I had a surprise for hubs which I had previously shared on twitter, we got a kitten. Hiding him till Monday was pretty much impossible as we arrived at the house on Saturday. But we still had some surprises up our sleeves. On Monday, we made some helium balloons from a kit I got at Globo Image, got some champagne and picked up a cake to welcome him once he got out of bed. Nothing better than champagne in the morning, to be honest.

Calella - City, beach and mountains

We spent most days wondering around the city, climbing up to the mountains and drinking loads of alcohol {so now I'm having some alcohol free days}. It is a lovely city, with a clean beautiful beach and it's only 1h away by train or 35mins by car. The perfect place to get away and relax for a week or a weekend. In the summer, you can also go snorkelling, or visit the Water Sports Centre for some water adventures such as snorkelling, scuba diving, jetski and more.

If you're visiting Barcelona and would like somewhere to relax which is not far but away from all the chaos and craziness of the big city, I'd definitely recommend checking out hotels and houses in Calella. We all had an amazing time and I'd be more than happy to go back.
