Question Wednesday: Hair!

I am excited to finally be linking up with Nykki of My Mane Blog for Questions Wednesday this week. The topic is Hair. And if you have seen an older post I did on hair, you would probably know I love my hair a lot.

What is your natural hair color? Are you happy with it?
My natural hair color is dark brown. I am really happy with how it is at the moment. I love my hair long, but a while back I had to cut it neck length because I did way too much straightening which absolutely destroyed my hair. Now my hair is much healthier and when straight, it is back length.

Do you dye your hair? If yes then do you do it yourself or go to a salon?
No, I do not dye my hair and have never dyed it. Sometimes I think about doing it, like this summer I was thinking about doing ombre tips but I have not decided on that yet.

What is your must have hair care product?
I have quite a number of products I cannot do without but I guess my number 1 product I cannot live without is the Dark 'n' Lovely Leave-in conditioner. My hair type is something between a 3b and 3c. And because of this, it is basically impossible to comb it out properly without a good leave-in.

What is the worst hair care product that you have ever used?
I haven't switched hair care products in a long time because I found the one thing that works for me. But about a year ago, I ran out of the Dark 'n' Lovely leave-in and had to get a substitute for a little while. I got a spray leave-in conditioner (can't remember the manufacturer), and absolutely hated it. It didn't help me one bit.

Do you have any good tips or homemade recipes for long and pretty hair?
Firstly, weekly hot oil massages are great if you want long healthy hair. You can use olive oil or jojoba oil. Just warm it slightly, then insert your finger tips in the bowl and massage the oil into your roots (I also usually cover the rest of the hair in oil as well). Leave it on or 30min (you can leave it on longer and just do some things around the house) then wash your hair like you normally would.
Secondly, If you are going to blow dry or straighten your hair, make sure you use heat protection.
Also, here is my previous post on getting long and pretty hair. It has helped me so much in the last few years. Still sticking to my routine.

What products do you use? Do you have any hair tips?

P.S I am still running my first giveaway, so don't forget to enter.
