Hello my beauties. Today is another post from the Starting off series with the makeup product being Mascara. I am guessing this is one of those products you start off using alongside maybe foundation and lipgloss.
Now I always get compliments on my natural bare eyelashes because they are black, kind of thick and curly.
When I was just a little kid going to kinder garden in Moscow, my teacher once asked my mum how come my lashes are so curly and if she curls them for me. My mum being the hilarious woman she is replied by saying yes, she curls them all night so they can be that way in the morning. I remembered laughing so hard it hurt when she told me that story. I actually still laugh every time I remember it. {Love you mum!}
Anyway, my lashes are great but I like using mascara to make them look even thicker and longer as I love the way it looks. I started off with trying out my mum's mascaras. There was this one she had which I loved. It had a white base coat and them a black coat of mascara which made my lashes look extra thick and long {too bad I don't remember the brand}. But here are those which I do remember trying:
L'oreal Telescopic Mascara
The old version of this product has been discontinued but the good new is there is a new one. I love the wand and that it makes your lashes look longer. This is one of my favourites which I keep repurchasing. Once I get a new one I'll do a review with pictures of the effect it gives.

DiorShow Waterproof Mascara
I got to try this product out when I got it as a gift. It is absolutely amazing! It is probably my all time favourite mascara which I didn't repurchase only because of the price. Every time I see it, I am tempted to buy it. I gives both thickness and length and is clump free.

Maybelline Rocket Volum Express Mascara
This is my current favourite mascara which I have repurchased because I love it so much. You can read about all the details in my review here. In summary, it gives both length and lots of volume. And you can apply multiple coats without it getting clumpy.

Rimmel London Glam Eyes Mascara
Now this is one product I thought I would like a lot because of the wand, but unfortunately it really didn't work for me. It dried up really fast and I didn't get the effect I wanted after 3 coats. So I gave up on it after a couple of tries.

There are so many out there, you cannot possibly try them all. It all depends on what you prefer. I have a friend who only likes the traditional wand and cannot use any mascara with a plastic wand. Somehow for me, I seem to get plastic wands to work better.
Application:
When applying my mascara, I use about 3 coats. Start at the bottom and then wiggle the brush upwards. If you want extra volume, put the wand behind your lashes and then roll it out. And that's it! It is pretty straight forward.

Let me know your favourite mascara.
Thanks for the review, I am also looking to find the right Mascara, and the one that I like is the Mabelline XXXL Pro Extensions, because it works wonders in lengthening.
ReplyDeleteThanks again, I don't really like the big brush Mascara's but I will definitely look for these products!
Thanks beauty, I will be sure to check that out. x
DeleteHi Nia, great review!:)
ReplyDeleteFor my type of lashes looks pretty good the DiorShow and Benefit mascara.

My all time favourite are all the mascaras by Maybelline Volum Express, especially I´m obsessed with Collosal mascara for years!
