Review: MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme

MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme

I've been an eyebrow pencil girl for a very long time and found it easy to use and comfortable to carry around. My favourite brow pencil has been the Maybelline Brow Satin in Dark Brown because it contains both an eyebrow pencil and eyebrow powder. But then I visited the benefit counter and got my brows done. If you haven't been living under a rock then you already know that benefit released their new range of brow products, and the product I chose to try was the Benefit ka-brow. Once my brows were all done, I was amazing at how full and natural they looked. This was the moment I fell in love with brow gel creams. Prior to this, I had seen everyone on the Anastasia Deep Brow Pomade hype and just wasn't on the same wave. It looked so difficult to use that I wasn't inspired because my time availability in the mornings does not allow for such a long makeup routine.

Since I was new to the gel cream parade, I decided to get a cheaper alternative and practice with that to see how I get on prior to purchasing the ka-brow! But after searching in 3 different countries, I came up with nothing. So while strolling past MAC the other day, I decided to go check out the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme and I instantly found the shade I needed.

The MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme comes in a paint pot similar to that of some gel liners. To apply the gelcreme you can use either an angled brush or a small brush. I find that the angled brush gives me a bit more control, probably because it is thicker. I tend to start at the ends of my brows and work my way in applying little strokes in the attempt to imitate my natural brow hairs. The more pressure you put, the darker the results you get.

The gelcreme isn't as easy to apply as an eyebrow pencil and it takes a bit longer to do your eyebrows because if you rush it, you are prone to make mistakes which are harder to correct than when using powder or pencil. The gel is waterproof and stays put until the very end of the day when you're taking off your makeup. The result is so amazing, that I've gotten quite a few questions about what product I use for my brows.

Summary
Price - approx. €19.
Likes - perfect brows that last all day.
Dislikes - not as easy to apply as an eyebrow pencil.
Available - MAC counters
