I'm always on the search for new face masks that will give me the pamper I need and help improve my skin. From clay masks bought in stores to DIY masks which target acne and oily skin, I've tried them all in the hopes that they will work and I will have glowing skin free from blemishes.
Peel-off masks are great if you have uneven skin because they go in the dents and help bring out all the dirt and blackheads. I usually stick with store bought masks such as the Garnier Cucumber Peel-off mask, but recently I decided to try a DIY mask and fell in love. It is natural and has so many skin benefits. It's also super easy to make, I promise. And, you already have all you need lying around your house.
What you'll need:
1 Egg
Kitchen tissue
Step 1
Get an egg and separate the egg yolk from the egg white. For this face mask, we need only the egg white which contains different types of protein including collagen, potassium & other nutrients. This mask helps tighten the skin and reduce large pores, as well as control oiliness. It improves the elasticity of the skin and helps reduce fine wrinkles.
Step 2
Place the kitchen tissue on your face to get an idea of where your eyes, nose and mouth will be, and then cut out holes. You can either cut them out straight away or use a pen/pencil to outline and then cut.
Step 3
Apply the egg white to the tissue using your fingers. This can get slightly messy so be sure to do this in the bathroom. At this stage, what is most important is that you apply to all 4 sides of the face: forehead, chin and cheeks. This will help when performing the next step as the tissue will stick better.
Step 4
Place the tissue on your face and then apply some more egg white so it fully sticks to your face. Be careful when doing this, because the first time I did, I had egg white all over the place. I would suggest bringing the glass/plate containing the egg white really close to your face and then applying it.
Step 5
Leave it on for 15-20 minutes or until the egg white dries. Meanwhile, listen to some music, watch a movie or do anything else which doesn't require lots of moving around as we don't want the mask to fall off.
Step 6
Take the tissue by the corners and peel it off. You'll get out all the dirt and blackheads, as well as some unwanted facial hair.
Step 7
Didn't I promise it's extremely easy and doesn't require lots of ingredients? I would recommend this for oily skin because it does have a tightening and drying effect, which might be a bit overwhelming for dry skin but perfect for oily skin. If you have combination skin, I'd recommend focusing this on your T-zone.
What do you think? Are you going to try this mask for your next pamper session?
